The Africa Advocacy Foundation

The helpline provides support for anyone of African origin living in the UK who is either HIV positive or of unknown status. Advocacy and Information are also offered on Prevention, Treatment, Care, Immigration, Benefits and general welfare.

The helpline exists primarily to give information to anyone affected or infected by AIDS or HIV. Calls are welcomed from sufferers, their relatives or friends, and concerned Health Professionals.

Health Initiatives for Youth

Aimed at HIV/Positive people under 27, this helpline offers support and general information. Your call will be answered by a young, trained, HIV positive person.

Muslim HIV/AIDS support Service

    Open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, your call will be returned as soon as possible if no one is available to speak immediately.

The line is aimed primarily at members of the Muslim community, but others will not be turned away. Support and Information are provided both for sufferers themselves, their friends and families.


South-East England

The line is for the use of anyone in the community who has been affected or infected by HIV. Advice and (non-medical) information is offered.

South-West England

Body Positive Dorset

    Staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.

Support and information are offered to anyone infected or affected by HIV.


Herts Aid

    Staffed Monday to Friday, 10.00-5.00

Aimed at those living in or around Hertfordshire, this line provides support and information for anyone infected or affected by HIV. Your call will be answered by a trained volunteer. Further therapies, counseling, and welfare advice can be arranged.


North-East England

The Bridge Project

    Staffed Mon 12-5, Tue 10-8, Wed to Fri 10-5

All staff are either qualified counselors or social workers. The line is aimed at drug users, their families and carers, and provides counseling and information. Face-to-face counseling can be arranged if desired.


North-West England

Body Positive Blackpool

    Providing support and information for anyone affected or infected by HIV, the line is staffed mainly by HIV-positive people, but also some highly-trained negative people.

George House Trust
George House Trust - HIV Advice, Support, Action. GHT is the HIV organisation for the North West of England. This site contains useful information about HIV treatments and campaigns.

The Terrence Higgins Trust
The Terrence Higgins Trust has Europe's largest non-medical collection of HIV related materials and provides an email service world-wide.
