What l have learnt

I just got my test result today, it came back negative (thank god, literally). I was in absolute panic during the last week waiting for the result.

I decided to get tested because of the abnormal pap smear result that might be caused by HPV. I thought "if I got HPV because of unprotected sex, I may get HIV as well". I started to feel terribly worried, because I knew most people who got HIV didn't know they got it, and I might be one of them.

I regret constantly about my risky behaviour two years back. Like most people, I had that 'of course it won't happen to me' mentality. When I look back now, it was unbelievable, I was very young, I thought I could get away with everything. Little did I know how precious health was untill I was in the danger of losing it.

I will never have unprotected sex again unless he is medically proven to be HIV and STDs free (and he will have to show me the medical paper as well). No sex is worthier than good health, especially not the sex with a person you don't even love.

I'm so thankful God has given me a second chance. I'd like to tell everyone out there that if you are given a second chance, please do remember this lesson for life and don't make the same mistake twice. You may not get so lucky next time.

Be responsible to ourselves, to our parents and to our loved ones. Do not have unprotected sex, it is not worth it.

For those who are positive, I hope you will find a way to live with it. Please try to lead a healthier life style from now on, drink lots of green tea, eat lots of fruit and veggies. Vitamins A B C E are essential for boosting your immune systems, eat tons of them; quit, or at least reduce, smoking. I hope God will bless us all.
